To commemorate Staples Players’ long history, current students and alumni will perform a 50th anniversary show on May 22 at 7:30 p.m. and May 24 at 5:30 p.m.
”We’re going to try to really talk about all 50 years,” said David Roth, Players alum and director since 2000.
Some alumni will direct current Players or act with them in parts of the show, and Roth said he is confident the students will perform well the “complicated songs and dances.”
In the May 24 showing, there will be a tribute to Craig Matheson, founder of Players, and during the final song any past Players in the audience–which will consist of over 300 alumni, according to Rhonda Paul, Production Manager for Players–can join in.
“The alumni are really committed,” said Roth.
